Easy Read is a way of showing written down information that makes it easier to read. Text is broken down into short sentences on a page, images are chosen to represent each sentence and language is simplified where possible.

From 1 August 2016 all organisations Organisations are groups like companies and businesses. that provide NHS The NHS is the National Health Service. The NHS gives free healthcare to everyone in the UK and includes things like your GP (doctors) surgery and hospitals. care and/or publicly-funded adult social care Social care means the services that give care and support to people who need it. are legally required to follow the Accessible Accessible means something is easy for people to use or join in with. For example: Accessible writing means the writing is easy to read and understand. Information Standard. The Standard sets out a specific, consistent approach to identifying, recording, flagging, sharing and meeting the information and communication support needs of patients, service users, carers and parents with a disability, impairment or sensory loss.
