There are over 2,000 people with a learning disability and, or autistic people, stuck in mental health hospitals.

The NHS has a target to half the number of people with a learning disability and/ or autistic people in mental health hospitals by March 2024.

This means things like:

  • making sure there are enough people working in social care and that they have the right training and skills to support people with a learning disability and or autistic people.

  • making sure there is the right housing for people.
