Taking on Snowdon!
Emily & Teresa will be trekking up Snowdon together to challenge misconceptions of what people with a learning disability A learning disability is to do with the way someone's brain works. It makes it harder for someone to learn, understand or do things. like Teresa can achieve, and raise vital funds for Mencap at the same time.

“I’ve grown up with Teresa by my side for my whole life,” says Emily. “I call her my sunshine. She has taught me what the value of life is and how important it is to be happy and to take everything in your stride.”
Making a difference
Wanting to do something big to celebrate her 60th birthday, Teresa chose to Push to the Peak to make people proud and prove that someone with a learning disability can be fit enough to take on the challenge.

“I didn’t want any presents - I just wanted money to raise money for Mencap” Teresa says. “I would love it if the money we raise is used to help people with a learning disability like me.”
“I’m so geared up for it now. We first talked about it last year, me and Emily. She said about Snowdon. And I said ‘We’ll do it!’. I wanted to raise money for Mencap as I have been going to a swimming club that is supported by them for the last 32 years! I’m not the fastest swimmer in the world but I can keep going and going."
