What is the One Big Walk challenge?
There are 1.5 million people in the UK with a
learning disability
A learning disability is to do with the way someone's brain works. It makes it harder for someone to learn, understand or do things.
. We’d like you to use that number to raise awareness and set your own One Big Walk challenge! How about…
- A 1.5 mile walk every day in September.
- An ambitious 15 miles in one day.
- A total distance of 150 miles walked across the whole of September.
...or something else, the choice is yours!

Where does the One Big Walk take place?
One Big Walk takes place during September.
This is a virtual challenge, so you can walk anywhere you like. Whatever you choose, you'll be helping to make a difference.

There are lots of ways you can take part if you use a wheelchair or find walking challenging. Talk to our team who can suggest other ways you can take part and be involved.

£25 could help to signpost a parent or carer to support available in their local area.

£50 could help us transform a garden space for people with a learning disability so they can enjoy time outside in a safe and comfortable place

£100 could help provide access to sport and recreational activities so people with a learning disability can socialise and break the loneliness and isolation they face.
