How to apply for a railcard

There are different types of railcards.

You will need to fill in a form to apply for a railcard.

You can apply for a railcard online or at the ticket office at some train stations.

When you apply for a railcard, you might need: 

  • proof of your address if you are applying for a railcard because of where you live 
  • proof of your age if you are applying for a railcard because of your age

If you apply for a Disabled Persons Railcard, you will need proof of your disability.

You will need to pay for the railcard. 

A 2024 calendar.

Some railcards last for 1 year.  

Calendars for 2023, 2024 and 2025.

Sometimes you can buy a railcard which lasts for more than 1 year.

If you are going to use your railcard a lot, it might be cheaper to buy a railcard which lasts for more than 1 year.
