We are currently looking for 1 Trustee with a
learning disability
A learning disability is to do with the way someone's brain works. It makes it harder for someone to learn, understand or do things.
to join our Board of Trustees at Mencap.
You do not need
experience
Experience is when you have learned or tried something before.
of being on a Board of Trustees.
We are looking for someone who cares about the lives of people with a learning disability and wants to help make things better.
Mencap’s Board of Trustees have 4 in person meetings in a year.
The meetings are in London but sometimes they could be in other parts of England, or in Northern Ireland or Wales.
You may also be on a committee. These look at big topics on behalf of the Board.
We have 3 different committees. Our committees meet 4 times a year online.

People who applied for the role of Trustee will be told by Mencap if they will be interviewed or not. Note: We cannot give feedback to people about why they didn't get an interview.

People invited for interview will have a 2-stage interview. |
At the beginning of July 2026
|
All people interviewed will be told how they did and if they have got the Trustee role or not. |
July - August 2026 |
The new Trustee will start their role at Mencap.
