It’s very important for people with a learning disability to have easy read materials available to support them to be able to vote in elections. We have worked with the Electoral Commission to produce accessible guides to support people in being able to vote.
We have also worked with the main political parties to call for there to be easy read versions of their manifestos, which are available below.

Learning disability - the change we want to see
There are 1.4 million people with a learning disability living in the UK, many at risk of hate crime, poor healthcare and social isolation. We know that many politicians do not understand the challenges people with a learning disability and their families face. This can change.
In 2015 we launched our Hear My Voice campaign to put learning disability issues higher on the political agenda. Find out more about the change we want to see to improve the lives of people with a learning disability and their families and carers.
