The Motability Scheme gives disabled people a way to use government money to pay for help to get around.
The Motability Scheme gets money from a charity called the Motability Foundation.
You should be able to get help from the Motability Scheme if you get:
- the higher rate mobility part of Disability Living Allowance
- the higher rate mobility part of Personal Independence Payment
- Armed Forces Independence Independence means doing things on your own. Making your own choices. Payment or
- War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement.
You use the money from your benefit to pay the Motability Scheme for a:
- car
- scooter
- electric wheelchair or
- WAV. WAV stands for wheelchair accessible Accessible means something is easy for people to use or join in with. For example: Accessible writing means the writing is easy to read and understand. vehicle.
