What is a coach?

A coach is like a bus, but you use it to travel on a long journey.

Coaches often have more comfortable seats than buses.

Coaches must be easy for people to use.

If you use a wheelchair or scooter, you might be able to take this on the coach with you.

If you have a wheelchair or scooter that you want to take on the coach with you, you should ask about this when you book your ticket.

The coach driver will not be able to lift you, or anything heavy that you have with you.

What is a coach card?

A coach card is a card that makes it cheaper for you to travel by coach.

If you have a disability, you might be able to travel for free on some coaches.

If you apply for a coach card for disabled people, you will need to have proof of your disability.

Help and support on the coach and at coach stations

The driver of the coach or someone else who works on the coach may be able to help you get on and off the coach.

If you need help to get on and off a coach, you should ask if there will be anyone who can help you when you book your ticket.

If it is not easy for you to use the toilet on the coach, ask the driver to stop at a coach station on the way so you can use the toilet there.

You might need to have a RADAR key to open a wheelchair accessible toilet at some coach stations.
