Your needs respected, better healthcare, free annual health checks. That’s what being on the learning disability register could mean for you.

We’ve made it quicker and easier to join the  learning disability register . And today we’re launching Mencap’s I’m In campaign , to get more people to join.

Use our letter builder, to quickly make a letter for your GP surgery. It will ask you some questions that your doctor will need to know to get you registered.

Once you've made your letter, print it or email it and then take it to your GP practice! They will make a decision about adding you to the register. Mencap are here to help if you run into any problems with getting on.

People with a learning disability are dying on average nearly 20 years younger than people without a learning disability.

And almost 2 in 5 deaths were avoidable.

The learning disability register and the learning disability annual health check , is an important way we can look after our health. Because people with a learning disability deserve better healthcare services.

Everyone with a learning disability has the chance to be on the register. It doesn’t matter how old you are, if you have a formal diagnosis , or are still waiting for one. You’re still eligible, so if you haven't joined the register yet, build your letter today.

If you want to stand alongside people with a learning disability, we’ve made it easy to join the I’m In campaign too

Whether you’re a group or an individual, sign up to the campaign to find out how you can say I’m In.

We’ll send you a free badge too!
