Mencap/Sock Snob: Instagram Rock Your Socks competition – Terms & Conditions

  1. The promoter of the Competition is Royal Mencap Society (Mencap), a registered charity (number 222377) in England and Wales, of 6 Cyrus Way, Hampton, Peterborough PE7 8HP.
     
  2. The Competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 16 years or over (at the time of entry) except employees of Mencap and their close relatives and any other third party connected with the administration, organisation or judging of the Competition.
     
  3. The Competition is free to enter and no purchase is necessary.
     
  4. By entering this Competition, participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions.
     
  5. To enter the Competition, participants must:
    a.    like and comment on the Sock Snob post shared on the Mencap Instagram account; and
    b.    follow @mencap and @socksnobuk
     
  6. There is a limit of one entry per participant in this Competition – if a participant comments multiple times, this will only count as one entry. 
     
  7. The Competition will open at [9am] (GMT) on 16 March 2026 and the closing date for entries will be [12pm] on 21 March 2026. Entries received after this time will not be counted. Mencap accepts no responsibility for entries not received for whatever reason.
     
  8. There will be 5 winners in the Competition, and each winner will receive a pair of Mencap x Sock Snob socks.
     
  9. The winners will be chosen by the Mencap based on a random draw.
     
  10. The winners will be notified by direct message on Instagram by @mencap by no later than 5pm (GMT) on 23 March 2026 or, alternatively, Mencap will comment on a winning post asking the winner to send a direct message on Instagram to @mencap to claim the prize.
     
  11. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 7 days of notification, Mencap reserves the right to select a replacement winner.
     
  12. The prizes are as stated and non-transferable, and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. Mencap reserves the right to replace any prize with an alternative prize of an equivalent value if circumstances beyond its control makes it necessary to do so.
     
  13. Mencap reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or amend the Competition where it becomes necessary to do so. Mencap will notify participants of any changes as soon as possible.
     
  14. Mencap’s decision regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.
     
  15. [Any winner agrees to the use of their name in any publicity material, as well as their entry.] 
     
  16. By entering into the competition, entrants agree to Mencap providing their personal data to Sock Snob for the purposes of fulfilling the provision of the prize to the winner(s).
     
  17. The Competition and these terms and conditions are governed by English law and any disputes must be referred to the courts of England.
     
  18. This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or made in association with, Instagram or any other social media platform.
     
  19. There will be five (5) winners in the Competition, and each winner will receive a pair of Mencap-designed Sock Snob socks. There are three different Mencap-designed Sock Snob sock designs available, and the design awarded to each winner will be allocated at random - winners cannot choose which design they receive.
