Mencap/Skyline Instagram skydiving competition – Terms and conditions

  1. The promoter of the Competition is Royal Mencap Society (Mencap), a registered charity (number 222377) in England and Wales, of 6 Cyrus Way, Hampton, Peterborough PE7 8HP.
  2. The Competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 16 years or over (at the time of entry) except employees of Mencap and their close relatives and any other third party connected with the administration, organisation or judging of the Competition.
  3. The Competition is free to enter and no purchase is necessary.
  4. By entering this Competition, participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  5. To enter the Competition, participants must:
     a.   record a short video of why you would like to skydive for Mencap (Competition Video);
     b.   send the Competition Video to us by using the Competition form on the Mencap website at: https://mencap.formstack.com/forms/skydive_competition_2025; and 
     c.   follow the @mencap Instagram account
  6. There is a limit of one entry per participant in this Competition – if a participant comments multiple times, this will only count as one entry.
  7. The Competition will open at 9am (GMT) on 25 July 2025 and the closing date for entries will be 12pm (GMT) on 1 August 2025. Entries received after this time will not be counted. Mencap accepts no responsibility for entries not received for whatever reason.
  8. There will be 1 prize in the Competition and the winner will receive a skydive jump with Skyline Events (Skyline) with all costs covered and a free professional video of the skydive jump (worth, in total, up to £519) (Prize).
  9. The Prize is organised and delivered by Skyline (and not by Mencap – Skyline is not acting as agent or representative of Mencap in connection with the Prize). The prize winner may choose to skydive from Skyline’s participating sites as noted on their website at: https://skylineskydiving.co.uk/ subject to availability and capacity. The prize winner must accept Skyline’s terms and conditions in relation to the skydive jump (available from Skyline directly). Skyline will assess any medical conditions and/or disabilities on a case-by-case basis and you should contact Skyline if you have any specific concerns or needs. Mencap does not guarantee availability for any specific date or location, and Mencap does not accept any responsibility or liability for any injury, loss or damage incurred as a result of participating in a skydive jump (except to the extent that such liability cannot be excluded by law ).
  10. The Prize must be redeemed in full (meaning that the skydive jump must take place) on or by 31 December 2025.
  11. The winners will be chosen by Mencap based on a random draw.
  12. The winner will be notified by direct message on Instagram by @mencap (or such other means as Mencap may determine) by no later than 5pm (GMT) on 8 August 2025 in order to claim the Prize.
  13. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 7 days of notification, Mencap reserves the right to select a replacement winner.
  14. The prizes are as stated and non-transferable, and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. Mencap reserves the right to replace any prize with an alternative prize of an equivalent value if circumstances beyond its control makes it necessary to do so.
  15. All eligible entrants who do not win a prize will receive a £10 discount code redeemable against their deposit for a skydive jump booked through Skyline's website at www.skylineskydiving.co.uk. The discount code will be issued via direct message on Instagram (or such other means as Mencap may determine) within 10 days of the closing date of the Competition and will be valid until 31st December 2025. The discount code will be valid for one-time use only, is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or combined with any other promotion.
  16. Mencap reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or amend the Competition where it becomes necessary to do so. Mencap will notify participants of any changes as soon as possible.
  17. Mencap’s decision regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.
  18. You acknowledge and confirm that (i) you are the owner of the Competition Video, (ii) the Competition Video does not knowingly copy or infringe the rights of any other person, and (iii) Mencap is permitted, in its sole and absolute discretion, to adapt, edit, reproduce and use the Competition Video submitted by you on any media anywhere in the world and without a time limit without payment or permission for any and all related promotional purposes to promote Mencap and its charitable objectives.
  19. The winner agrees to the use of their name and the Competition Video in any publicity material, as well as consenting to participate in reasonable related publicity, in all cases, without payment or permission. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other participants will be used solely for the purposes of the Competition and in accordance with applicable UK data protection law.
  20. The Competition and these terms and conditions are governed by English law and any disputes must be referred to the courts of England.
  21. This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or made in association with, Instagram or any other social media platform.
