Everyone that uses social care has different needs.

Some people need lots of help with cooking and cleaning, and others need help with managing their money and meeting friends and family.

Stopping people having to pay for social care

Social care should be free for everyone but it is not.

Some people who get social care must pay from their benefits like Personal Independence Payment .

Mencap wants this to stop so people with a learning disability do not have to pay for their social care .

More people working in social care

There are not enough people working in social care.

Many people who work in social care are leaving and not enough people are joining to fill the available jobs.

A wage slip with money in it is in front of the houses of paliament

Mencap wants all political parties to give more money to social care so that the people who work in social care can be paid more.

A man is holding out his hand in front of three people who are sat facing him. He is next to a flip chart which says Welcome to your new job.

Paying people more will stop people leaving social care jobs and hopefully get more people to work in social care.
