Learning disability pay gap report Easy Read
The Mencap Learning Disability Pay Gap Report
We want to let you know about Mencap’s Learning Disability Pay Gap Report for 2026.
We have looked at the pay of colleagues with a learning disability.
Colleagues are the people who work at Mencap.
We have compared what they are paid to what colleagues without a learning disability are paid.
The difference in pay is called the pay gap.
We found that colleagues with a learning disability earn £12.66 an hour on average.
Colleagues without a learning disability earn £12.88 an hour on average.
This means colleagues with a learning disability earn about 1.7% less on average.
This means there is a small learning disability pay gap.
We also found that there are fewer colleagues with a learning disability in the highest-paid roles.
This may mean that colleagues with a learning disability have fewer chances to move into senior jobs.
We want to improve things so that colleagues with a learning disability have more opportunities to develop their careers.
We will do this by:
- Supporting inclusive recruitment
- Supporting career development
- Helping colleagues feel confident to share information without disability
- Working with Belonging Network groups
We think it is important that all colleagues have fair opportunities to succeed at Mencap.
