Ethnicity pay gap report Easy Read
The Mencap ethnicity pay gap report
We want to let you know about Mencap’s ethnicity pay gap report for 2025.
The report looks at what colleagues from Black, Asian and other ethnic minority backgrounds are paid at Mencap.
This is compared to what white colleagues are paid.
Colleagues are the people who work at Mencap.
We compare what these groups are paid to see if there is any difference.
The difference is called the pay gap.
We found that colleagues from ethnic minority backgrounds earned 94p for every £1 that white colleagues earn.
This shows us that colleagues from ethnic minority backgrounds are paid slightly less on average than white colleagues.
This means that we have a small ethnicity pay gap.
The pay gap is bigger when we look at senior roles at Mencap.
This might mean that we don’t have as many colleagues from ethnic minorities in senior roles.
We are working on some things that we think might remove the pay gap:
- We will share ways that colleagues can move into senior roles.
- We will work with our Belonging network groups to come up with ideas about how to remove this pay gap.
- We will be fair and inclusive when we recruit new people.
We think it is important that we close the ethnicity pay gap.
We also want all colleagues to have opportunities to advance in their careers.
