The report has said that the current system can cause distress and confusion to patients, as well as increasing the risk of doing them harm.

“This important report outlines the systemic barriers people with a learning disability
A learning disability is to do with the way someone's brain works. It makes it harder for someone to learn, understand or do things. face in getting their health needs met.
“These issues are far from new. It is appalling that in 2023 people with a learning disability still face such huge inequalities when accessing healthcare.”
