Annual review: Mencap
Making Mencap a better place to work
We are making Mencap an even better place for all groups of people to work.
For example:
We are working to make sure that all our staff are paid fairly. That includes our
support workers
Support workers are people who are paid to give care and support to people who need it.
.
We are making sure that we listen to all our staff so they can have their say.
We are making sure that people with a learning disability A learning disability is to do with the way someone's brain works. It makes it harder for someone to learn, understand or do things. and other groups of people help us to make big decisions.
A group of people with a learning disability already help us to make decisions.
They are called the
Voices Council
The Mencap Voices Council are a group of 12 people with a learning disability. They share their views and experiences to help Mencap's Board of Trustees make decisions.
.
They will be an even bigger part of our work in the future.
