Eiman used My Fund to apply for a laptop for his four year old son, Ishaaq, who loves to watch videos he’s recorded, as well as songs and films of moving buses and trains.
“My son is obsessed with spending time on the screen” said Eiman, but using a touchscreen device was not always the best for him.

“He keeps touching the screen all the time and ends up either pausing the videos or switching to new ones which makes him angry and he subsequently gets tantrums.”

Getting a laptop without a touchscreen meant Ishaaq could enjoy choosing what to do when having the screen time that is important to him, feeling calm and in control.
Now, he’s using the laptop to help him learn to count, engage in online therapy sessions, and of course sing along to his favourite songs and rhymes!

“I would like to thank you for this award and the amazing support our family has received,” said Eiman.

“This grant has been a blessing to our family. With the aid of the provided laptop, Ishaaq's behaviour has improved significantly, allowing us to attend to other household tasks while he enjoys his programs. Previously, getting him to sit still at the table and eat his meals without throwing tantrums was always a struggle. But now, he sits calmly and eats his food without any fuss.”

“The funding has been very helpful to our family, especially our son. It has helped us to cope with his daily routine and the behavioural challenges.”
