Work experience placements
We are always looking to work with employers who can provide work experience to learners on our Mencap Training Academy supported internships programmes. Our supported employment programmes may also look for work experience placements when working to support people into a paid job.
Employment guidance and advice
Besides offering work experience, employers can also support people on our programmes by offering:
- Opportunities to visit work sites
- Opportunities to hear from employees about their work and sector
- Support to prepare for interviews.
Organisations can also raise funds for Mencap. Visit our corporate partnerships page to learn more or contact corporate fundraising.
How Mencap supports employers
In-work support
For employers that offer work experience to people on our programmes, Mencap can provide in-work support through our caseworkers and skills coaches who support people to understand and complete workplace tasks. They also work with employers' teams to ensure any required reasonable adjustments are made and they are equipped to support the person.
Employers offering work experience can also benefit from our learning disability awareness training.
