Ellie Gray has been appointed the new director of fundraising for Mencap, the UK's leading learning disability charity.

On Saturday 8th November, Mencap's Little Noise Sessions will make a welcome return to Islington's Union Chapel for its third successful year. Kicking things off will be Glaswegian rock galvanisers Glasvegas, the unstoppable four-piece will take to the tiny stage to play an acoustic set to an intimate crowd, alongside Cage the Elephant and a very special surprise act.

The Irish Football Association has announced its 'Going for Goal'official charity partners for the next two years. Mencap is one of three choosen charities with a strong reputation for 'grassroots' work with disadvantaged and vulnerable people in all communities across Northern Ireland will partner the IFA during the 2010 World Cup Campaign.

Thirty-four percent of people with a learning disability have reported their day time activities have been cut according to a report launched by the Learning Disability Coalition today (2 July 2008).
