If you've decided to try sport for the first time, or you belong to a sports club and want to run sessions, Mencap Sport can help.
Special Olympics Great Britain
The first place to try might be your local Special Olympics club. Special Olympics run sports activities in clubs across the country. They also run many local events in a variety of sports.
- Visit the Special Olympics website for more information.
Local sports centres and national governing bodies
If you are still at school, you might find that there are after-school sessions that you can get involved in.
You might also try your local sports centre, which will probably run various sports sessions where you can go along and try something new.
Most sports are run by a national governing body. These bodies have websites that include information about getting involved. You will find links to the major sports below.
- Contact a national governing body.
You can also contact your regional sports manager. They can tell you what sports are available in your area.
- Contact your regional sports manager.
