Mencap Northern Ireland offers advice and support for families.
We provide independent, confidential information and advice on anything to do with learning disability. Our local advice services offer extra support to people with a learning disability and their families as they decide what to do.
Campaigning for more and better support for families
We continue to call on the government to make short breaks for families a funding priority through our Breaking Point campaign.
As part of the Northern Ireland Anti-Bullying Forum we are also looking at what needs to be done to prevent and tackle disablist bullying and have produced a leaflet for parents of disabled children and young people. You can download the leaflet from the Northern Ireland Anti-Bullying Forum website.
Mencap's Segal House nursery is the only place of its kind where very young people with a learning disability and their parents can get specialist help and support. We also provide information and support to families through our play adviser service.
