We provide a range of advocacy support for people with a learning disability.
Range of advocacy support
We help people with a learning disability to have their views and voices heard in decisions that affect their lives. People with a learning disability are likely to need different types of advocacy support at different times in their life.
Our advocacy support develops the confidence and skills of self advocates to speak to decision makers, take part in consultations and provide peer support to other people with a learning disability. To find out more contact Colette Slevin.
Individual advocacy support
We provide independent advocacy support so that people with a learning disability know and are able to exercise their rights when key decisions are being made about their life, such as moving from a long stay hospital to a new home in the community or when they are involved in family or other court proceedings.
