In celebration, a group of 33 supporters joined us where it all began - in the Sahara Desert.
The original Sahara Hike in 2000 was an amazing experience, and the anniversary trip proved a fitting way to celebrate with old and new supporters alike.
The trek took the team 96km (60 miles) across the wilderness of southern-central Morocco, near the Algerian border, in wild weather conditions.
Many thanks to everyone who undertook the challenge, and helped to raise more than £40,000 for Mencap projects in Northern Ireland.
The eight-day trek was beautiful, yet brutal and bizarre. The 2.5 million-year-old Sahara threw much at us, including sandstorms, rain, blisters, goat stew and desert winds. Morale remained high throughout, nevertheless and we all completed the challenge event in high spirits!
