The weather was glorious and the venue, the prestigious Dorney Lake, was the perfect location for the event.
Friends and family were there to cheer on the swimmers and helped to create a fantastic atmosphere, while TV legend Johnny Ball was on hand to award prizes for the top swimmers.
Entrants included Lucy Chenery (left) aged 15, who was helped by Mencap Sport when she found she had a passion for swimming. Lucy finished third overall in the ladies' category with an outstanding time of 26 minutes and 30 seconds.
Tom Hempenstall (right) aged 19, finished sixth overall with a time of 25 minutes and 41 seconds. Like Lucy, he has also been supported by Mencap Sport, having taken part with the National Great Britain training squad.
We'd like to say a huge thank you to all our swimmers for the effort they put in - a mile swim in open water is quite a challenge, so congratulations! Your hard work will help Mencap continue to support people with a learning disability, their families and carers throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Your next Mencap Mile!
