The Bupa London 10,000 run promises to be a high-profile and very popular event. Places are given on a first come, first served basis and are expected to go quickly.
In central London. The race, which starts and finishes in St James Park, will include stunning London landmarks including the London Eye, Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square.
There is no minimum sponsorship to raise if you have your own place. We just ask that you raise as much as you can. If you have a Mencap guaranteed place, the minimum sponsorship you need to raise is £450.
In both cases we will provide you with a fundraising pack that includes training guidelines, sponsorship forms and fundraising advice - as well as a Mencap running vest on the day.
We ask that you send us 50% of the target sponsorship money by 20 April 2009 and the balance by 13 July 2009. Please make cheques payable to Mencap.
When you join Mencap's Bupa London 10,000 team we will support you through the entire experience. We are on call to deal with any queries you may have about training for the run. We can also provide you with fundraising materials, such as balloons, posters and collection tins. Register with Mencap and you can be sure we'll support you all the way!

If you already have a place through the online ballot - well done and congratulations! Why not make that coveted place go further and run for Mencap?
You will still be part of the Mencap team - you'll get a vest and the same support as the rest of the team. You do not have to pay the registration fee and are not obliged to raise the minimum £450 sponsorship fee. We just ask you to let us know that you want to run for us and raise as much as you can.
