15 runners from Northern Ireland were joined by six others from England and Wales for the event, which started on 1 November in Staten Island.
Participants then ran through all five of the city's boroughs - Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Manhattan. The marathon finished in Central Park.
As well as a great participatory event, the ING New York City Marathon also proved to be a wonderful spectacle for supporters.
The experience of running through all the boroughs was amazing. Brooklyn was incredible. The crowds, the live bands, the children offering water and tissues were brilliant... all in all, it was a great experience.

In total, the team raised over £60,000 for Mencap, a fantastic result for all involved and a vital source of support for people with a learning disability, their families and carers in Northern Ireland, England and Wales.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took part.
