Nearly 120 runners took to the roads of Newcastle and South Shields to raise money for Mencap by taking part in the world’s biggest half marathon. The rain came as a welcome relief to the runners who started the run with the sun shining letting them cool off before hitting the home straight.
The Red Arrow display above the charity village in South Shields was a fantastic way to finish the race and where we met our wonderful runners.
The team included 45 runners from across the Co-operative Group who were raising money to go towards Inspire Me, a project aiming to help 20,000 young people across the UK be the best that they can be. Find out more about Inspire Me
