After a few hours to explore Buenos Aires the ride started in Bariloche, with a 55km ‘warm up' ride and a refreshing swim in Lake Nahuel Huapi.
The next day saw the group heading off towards Villa La Angostura with beautiful views of mountains and forests along the way. The journey then took them through pouring rain across the mountain pass into Chile, where they were rewarded by a dip in the hot springs at Aguas Calientes.
From that point onwards the Osorno Volcano became a constant companion as the group cycled along the shores of three lakes. The final day of cycling from Puerto Varas to the Pacific Ocean was a great finale to the ride.
In total the ride covered 520km in six days of cycling, from over 1500m above sea level down to the very ocean itself. During the ride the group experienced smooth paved roads, bumpy gravel and dirt off road tracks. enjoyed the downhills after the long, tough uphills and pedalled through sunshine and rain!
The group have raised over £55,000 for Mencap and our work supporting people with a learning disability, their families and carers.
We'd like to thank everyone who took part and all those who have supported them in their training and fundraising.
