Christopher is 24 years old. He has a severe learning disability and a complex type of symptomatic epilepsy. For the past three years he attended his local college for three days a week. He was taking courses in life skills, including art, makaton and computers.
Christopher really enjoyed his time at college. He likes learning new things, having new experiences and spending time with his peers. Christopher says he likes college "because it helps him to get smart like his brothers".
In the spring Christopher was told that his hours at college were being cut to just one day per week. Christopher and his family were devastated. The college said that funding was being cut for pre-entry level students like him. No alternative provision was offered to Christopher. This left Christopher with very little to do during the week.
