Hear from a RideLondon participant

"I'm supporting Mencap because my family have benefited directly from the support they provide. My son, Daniel, has Down syndrome and is a keen member of the Music Man Project, which has a lot of support from Southend Mencap.

"Over the years I've done lots of fundraising, so for this event I decided to do something different. I spent a day in the Royals Shopping Centre on a turbo trainer bike and covered 100 miles. I had maps of the RideLondon route with markers to show how far I had (virtually) moved along the course. Through this I raised a total of £304.50!

"A huge thank you goes to Marc McOwens from Southend Mencap who introduced me to the Royals centre manager and helped get me the slot!"
