Fran has been sending a ‘Round Robin’ to her family and friends each year to let them know what she has been doing.

Now she’d like to share it with you too.

January

I enjoyed Christmas at my brother Dom’s house. The best thing was seeing all the family.

I have seen ‘Lady Killers’. A good performance and good acting by the Phoenix Players, a local acting group. I’ve seen them lots. I only go to their productions. I’ve never been on stage, and I don’t want to!

February

I went on holiday to Madeira with Yvonne (my mum) and Helen. Yvonne sorted it for a surprise Christmas present for Helen’s 60th birthday and my birthday. I haven’t been before. The weather was nice. We loved it! I enjoyed everything. I really enjoyed the carnival with all the floats. There was lots of other people watching too. Helen’s birthday was not when we were in Maderia, it is in March. I travelled home on my birthday. The hotel staff gave me a birthday cake. I love travel either plane, bus, train, or coach, so I enjoyed my birthday.

Went to the first ‘Movie and Pizza’ night at Phoenix Riverside.  I talked to other people.  I liked the film, ‘Marigold Hotel’. Hopefully there will be more ‘Movie and Pizza’ nights.

March

I went to Rotherham town centre with Helen to see the start of Sports Relief. It’s a charity thing like Comic Relief. I got an invite to have a photo with them before the start of their walk.  Helen took the photo and it was of Paul and Harry – they was doing a walk strapped together with a blue thing round their legs. They was walking from Rotherham town centre and I think they finished at York. They was raising money for Sports Relief. Yvonne, Helen and me put some money in their bucket. I got to see them again on Fenton Road. I loved seeing them raising money.

We went out for a meal for Helen’s birthday at Tankersley Manor.

Palm Sunday I walked with Tammy, my sister, and her husband Peter. She does lots to raise money for different places and always asks me if I want to take part. I’ve done the walk before.  It was a dry sunny day. The walk started in Penistone, Oxpring, Thurgoland, Wortley and finished in Deepcar. 8.5 miles and it took 2 ½ hours.  I wanted to help raise money to send people to go on a pilgrimage to Lourdes in France. I asked family and friends to sponsor me. I raised £73.00. I was very happy. I was very delighted that I’d raised some money. I’d like to do it again. I also do a Santa dash in December, which is for Rotherham Hospice. I like to dress up in my Santa suit and I get a medal for that one.
