Nearly 200,000 people with a learning disability get PIP.

It’s not a bonus or a luxury – it’s the money people use to pay for things like support to help with cooking or washing safely and going to the toilet, or higher energy bills from using specialist equipment at home.

Under the new rules, some people could lose PIP even if they rely on help every single day.

We don’t believe the Government understands what a learning disability is and the support people need. If they did, we hope they wouldn’t be doing this.

The changes to PIP would affect disabled people living in England, Wales, and potentially Northern Ireland. Changes to PIP will not apply to Scotland as PIP has been replaced with Adult Disability Payments.

Have your voice heard - contact your MP

This summer, MPs will debate these changes. Tell your MP to stand with people with a learning disability and protect PIP.

We’ve written a message you can send – and you can add your own words too.

What to do if you are worried about the changes

If you are worried about whether this will impact you, please remember that this won’t impact everyone with a learning disability, and nothing will happen until next year.

Please take a look at our website with guidance on what to do if you are worried or need support.
