Established in 1983 MDF the Bipolar Organisation is a national user-led organisation and registered charity for people whose lives are affected by manic depression.

MDF aims to enable people affected by Bipolar disorder (also known as manic depression) to take control of their lives through the services offered to members. These include:

  • MDF self help groups
  • information and publications
  • employment advice
  • the MDF Self-Management Training Programme
  • a 24 hour legal advice line for employment, legal, benefits and debt issues
  • a travel insurance scheme
  • a 24 hour support line.
