Social care is important to us – stop the cut

Author: Ismail Kaji

Posted: 12th Jan 2011

I am worried about social care getting cut because it is very important for people with learning disability. If it is cut, people will lose their everyday things and they will loose confidence and not have a fulfilling life.

The Government have less money to spend and that’s why they will be less money to spend for everyone.

Before making any decisions the council needs to think about how important social care is for people with a Learning Disability. It is more important than ever that people tell their Local Authority not to cut social care.

Local Authorities need to see how to save money but I do not think that it should be by cutting social care.

A report called ‘Don’t limit mobility’ by Mencap and 26 other charities is out today. The report is about how the government’s plans to cut mobility allowance will affect people’s lives.

You can read the report on the Mencap website: www.mencap.org.uk/dla
