Mencap comments on pre budget report

David Congdon, Mencap's head of campaigns and policy, said:

"We are disappointed that government has failed to address the need for sustainable long term funding to meet the needs of people with a learning disability. Services are already under great pressure, further efficiency savings and increased financial pressure can only mean more people with a learning disability are unable to access vital services they desperately need.

"This pre budget report must ensure that public expenditure is protected especially in the areas of policing, health, education and social care - essential services for people with a learning disability and their families."
