Support Mencap's Christmas appeal
Tuesday 16 December 2008
Show someone you're thinking of them this Christmas.

People with a learning disability deserve the same chance as everyone else to spend Christmas with the people they choose, doing the things they want to do. However, many people with a learning disability still feel vulnerable and isolated. By supporting Mencap's Christmas appeal, you can help make someone's Christmas wish come true.
Ian (pictured) has profound and multiple learning disabilities, which make it difficult for him to do the things that other people take for granted, like going out and making friends. He felt very isolated and excluded. Read more about how Mencap has helped Ian make new friends.
Linda has two boys. Because of her learning disability she needs some support with everyday things, like housework. Linda did not receive this support and the authorities questioned her abilities. She felt very vulnerable and was told her children might be taken away. Find out how Mencap supported her to spend Christmas with her family.
By supporting our Christmas appeal, you can help us change someone's life and make it a Christmas they'll remember. You can also write a message of support.
