Helping young people reach their goals.

I have been very concerned for a long time about the poor standard of record keeping by the care staff who support my son, at one stage £200 went missing. After a long battle, culminating in an appeal to the Ombudsman, my local authority has now agreed to use My Money Matters for everyone they support in the county. It is "Best Practice" written by the Department of Health and a consortium of charities. When I started, there wasn't a copy in the whole of the authority, I had to lend them my copy! If you are concerned about the management of your son/daughter's money by a care provider, ask them to use MMM, and if they refuse, ask the Care Manager. Since I have started complaining, I have heard many stories of care providers acting improperly. I am left wondering is Financial Abuse is widespread?
