Does anyone have any experience of going to tribunal?

Hi FW,

Could you tell us a little more about your situation and any specific questions you've got - hopefully we might be able to come back with some helpful answers/advice.

Best wishes,

Lucy

Tribunal in november for residential placement - LA are totally against it - just some advice from parents who have been through the experience would be most welcome - anything at all in terms of the evidence needed and anything else as I don't want to have cut any corners thanks

Hi FW,

I will not have an opportunity to give you a full reply to this until the beginning of September, but will then. I hope that this will give you enough time and information for the tribunal in November.

Best wishes,

Lucy

We recently lost an appeal for a weekly boarding placement. The onus is on the family to prove that the child's needs are not being met locally and that it does not affect others - ie if it costs so much that funds are diverted from other children.. Reports from phsychologist, social worker, teacher etc. and budgets/costs for boarding school and the LEA's alternative (available on school websites) should be submitted within the deadline, and useful witnesses should be subpoenaed. Does the boarding school agree that it's appropriate? If so, get that in writing! Keep copies of all reports, letters etc., & confirm contents of phone calls in a letter afterwards. Good luck!
