Wow. I have never heard of this assumption before! Fancy expecting to be able to make someone so vulnerable like this. My children all had it drummed into them not to open the car window unless the person told them our code word which meant I was in trouble and they should then trust the stranger. We used to do role playing and would usually end up laughing. I wold be in tears too if someone was hounding me like that. I do find it difficult when adults talk to children of all different capabilities without the respect they would show for another adult.
