lets celebrate the good stuff!

WOO

I must tell you how proud I am of my son George, he is 15 years old and in his final year at school. As part of his transition review we put together a power point presentation with words pictures sound and video which told everyone all about George and his hopes and dreams.

George was asked to go along to the parent partnerships transition conferences and talk through his powerpoint to the parents, he did his first presentation last week to around 60 parents and this week we are off to do it all again.

I was so proud of George for getting up on the satge and speaking so well. He got a great round of applause t the end and lots of people coming up and complimenting him. It made him feel great too as well as bringing a tear to my eye!

It would be great to hear other good stuff that our sons and daughters are doing.

It is so nice to hear of successes. I agree with you that it is important to celebrate achievements. Everyone thrives on praise.

We are proud of our adopted DS son (23). He had his autobiography published in a national mag when he was 14! He is quite severely mentally handicapped, but a joy to be around.
