Recycle unwanted Christmas presents for Mencap
Friday 30 December 2011
Your unwanted presents can raise money to support people with a learning disability

This year, Mencap is asking supporters to put their unwanted Christmas presents to good use – by selling them or arranging a swap party to raise money for Mencap.
Mencap’s events development manager, Andrea Matias, says: “Maybe Santa didn’t bring you exactly what you asked for this Christmas. If that’s the case, you could sell any ill-fitting clothes, duplicate cook books or unnecessary gadgets and donate the funds to Mencap.”
All of your presents, from soap sets to DVDs, can be sold through online auction sites. Or you can organise a fun swap party with friends, where everyone pays an entrance fee and gets to swap unwanted presents for something they like.
