Access to Citizenship named best health project

The Access to Citizenship project in Northern Ireland was named best health project at the National Lottery Awards on 4 September.
The project is run by Mencap, Destined, the Western Health and Social Care Trust and the North West Regional College, and works with 100 young people in the Derry area. It offers education and training, as well as personal and social development opportunities.
Boxer Amir Khan presented the award to Michael Cole and Dermot O'Hara at a glittering ceremony in London, which was televised live on the BBC.
Another learning disability project, the Beacon Hill film project, was also a winner. It enables young people with a learning disability and autism in North Tyneside to make their own films, and won the award for best arts project.
