Wills and trusts lawyer receives award in recognition of work with Mencap

A lawyer who works with Mencap has been named Legal Executive of the Year 2011 by the Law Society.
Mencap nominated Philip Warford for the award in recognition of his hard work and dedication to helping families and carers of people with a learning disability, and his achievements with his Brighton-based firm Renaissance Legal.
Aarti Gupta, from Mencap’s wills and trusts team, said: “I was delighted to be there to see Philip receive his award. It’s hugely deserved and we are incredibly proud to have Philip working with us.”
Philip is a regional consultant for Mencap’s wills and trusts service, which offers advice to families about leaving money to a loved one with a learning disability.
The service includes free two-hour Planning For The Future seminars, which offer vital, professional legal advice and give parents and carers a much-needed opportunity to ask a local solicitor any questions about wills and trusts.
Philip was presented with his award at the Law Society Excellence Awards on 18 October. He said: “I am totally thrilled to receive such a prestigious award from the Law Society in recognition of my achievements over the past year. This accolade allows me to reach out further to help families, vulnerable adults and the elderly, ensuring their futures are safeguarded and their wishes are guaranteed.”
