Hollyoaks star and The Co-operative prepare for Santa Dash for Mencap

Hollyoaks star Sarah Jayne Dunn joined staff at The Co-operative’s Manchester head office yesterday for a training session ahead of a Santa Dash for Mencap. 

The 5km run will take place on Sunday, 27 November, in Heaton Park, Manchester. Organisers hope over 1,000 people will dress up as Santa to complete the course. Entertainment will include music from Middleton Brass Band, reindeers and a Santa’s grotto.

The event is part of The Co-operative’s Charity of the Year fundraising for Mencap’s Inspire Me project, which is seeking to change the lives of 20,000 young people with a learning disability, their families and communities.

Sarah Jayne Dunn, who will cheer on the runners in November, said: “The event promises to be great fun and will raise money for an extremely worthwhile cause – The Co-operative Santa Dash is a super opportunity for people to get fit before the festive season begins!”
