Book your free We Dance workshops
Monday 09 July 2012
Take part in a free dance workshop as part of the Mencap-run festival of dance

Last remaining places are available for dance workshops for people with a learning disability. The workshops are part of We Dance – a festival of dance being run by Mencap, to involve people with a learning disability in the Cultural Olympiad.
We Dance takes place this coming weekend, on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 July at mac birmingham.
The workshops will take place on Saturday 14 July and will include bhangra, ballroom and line dancing workshops.
There are also a few tickets left for the festival’s evening performances, so don’t miss your chance to see unique dance performances by people with a learning disability. Performance tickets cost £5.
We Dance is a grassroots dance scheme, which has seen hundreds of people with a learning disability take part in dance workshops across Birmingham this year. The two-day festival will showcase the work of national dance companies and local disabled community groups, including Freefall Dance Company’s first ever performance of their new Olympic-themed dance.
There will also be a stunning display of dance costumes and a free exhibition of Dance for Camera films, produced by a group of young filmmakers with a learning disability. These films will be screened throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Games on the BBC Big Screen.
