Parents can be worries about the progress of their child. Jo says: "We celebrated every little achievement, every milestone."
"It was very important to find a school that was all about inclusion," says Jo on her decision to choose mainstream provision for Hannah.
"Now I know different, but at that time I was absolutely devastated," says Jo.
"It's important not to say negative things about a child. Focus on what they can do, not what they can't do," says Jo.
Coming to terms with her son's autism was a huge challenge for Sacha, but now things are different: "I enjoy my child, and I love being a mum," she says.
"You know your child better than anyone else," says Sacha, as her advice to anyone going through statementing.
"There was so much information to take in. We needed practical advice about what we could do for Hannah."
