The ING New York City Marathon is one of the world's great road races, drawing more than 100,000 applicants annually.
Starting at the Verrazano Bridge on Staten Island, runners cross into Brooklyn and then proceed through Queens, the Bronx and Manhattan, finishing at the world famous restaurant Tavern on the Green in Central Park.
ING New York City Marathon is renowned for its enthusiastic and extremely large crowds of spectators. Two million New Yorkers take to the streets, lining the whole course, to cheer and support the runners.
